When and where is breakfast?
Feeling hungry and ready to start your day off right? Join us for a delightful dine-in breakfast buffet, on the house! Pick your favorites and savor them in our cozy dining area adorned with hand-painted murals of the European countryside.
Breakfast is served every day from 6:00 am to 10:00 am.
It is located on the lower level of the Timber Building, which is across the parking lot from the Main Lodge Building where the Front Desk is located.

Hop on the free shuttle service from Mountaineer Lodge to Lake Louise Ski Resort all winter. Shuttle times are subject to change.
What shuttle should I book to see Lake Louise or Moraine Lake?
We highly recommend booking a ticket with the Moraine Lake Bus Company.
Parks Canada is another option, however please be advised that the tickets are not guaranteed.
What kind of animal wildlife is in the area?

Is there somewhere that I can do laundry or dry my gear?
The laundry area is located in the Timber Lodge building, on the way to the Breakfast Room. Two coin washers and two coin dryers are available for guest use from 7:30 AM to 10 PM. Soap and softeners are available for purchase at the vending machine. Change is available at the Front Desk.
In many of our rooms, in-room boot dryers are the best way to dry ski boots, wet winter gear, swim suits, towels, and more.
Is there a secure place to store my skis or snowboard?
Ski Storage: The Mountaineer Lodge kindly requests that skis, snowboards and poles are stored in our secure ski storage. The ski storage area is complimentary and available upon request at the Front Desk.
Ski Waxing Room: We know you want your gear tip top so we have built a ventilated ski waxing room, located in the Timber Lodge building. This area is locked and available upon request through the Front Desk.

Room Renovations in Progress
It's time for a makeover! A select few rooms are undergoing renovations soon and will be entirely refreshed with a new and modern feel. Please be aware, you may be affected by the noise if you are staying in the main lodge or visiting the hot tub area. These rooms are located at the back of the building, near the fire exit on both floors. Rest assured, they are cordoned off with clear signage.

Our signature suites - The Mountaineer, King and Queen Explorer Suites include a cozy fireplace.
To operate the fireplace;
- stand in front of the fireplace
- on the left-hand side, there is a switch panel on the wall
- turn the switch to on/off
Housekeeping Service
Daily housekeeping service is provided for all guest stays. It includes a clean and tidy of your suite, replenishing of consumable amenities like coffee, soap, paper products. We will vacuum, wash floors as needed, and remove all garbage and recycling. Please put any used towels that are ready to be replaced in the bathtub or on the floor in the bathroom. Any towels that are not ready to be replaced, please hang up.
Our housekeeping team is happy to bring you additional towels, blankets, or amenities upon request. Come by and visit the front desk or call 1.403.522.3844 to reach the front desk.

Smoking
The Mountaineer Lodge is a smoke-free property. Smoking or vaping is not permitted o the property or in your room, including the balcony walkways.
Smoking is permitted in the parking lot area away from entrance doors. Guests who do not comply with these policies and choose to smoke in the room are subject to a charge starting at $300.

Front Desk & Lobby
The Front Desk, located in the main building, is open 24 hours daily. We are here to help you with activity planning, directions, dining and sightseeing recommendations, the weather - you name it and we'll do our best to get you the answers and help out.
The Lobby area by the Front Desk is a relaxing atmosphere to read a book or read up on the area activities. Enjoy free Wifi for staying in touch with loved ones or consulting your Lake Louise vacation itinerary. Coffee is served in this space free of charge (subject to availability). The Wifi password is Mountain123.
Hot Tub & Steam Room
The hot tub and steam room are the perfect spots for an apres-adventure soak and rejuvenating steam session. They are open from 10 am to 10 pm daily and are subject to maintenance and cleaning closures.
The hotel does not guarantee the use of the hot tub or steam room amenities as part of your reservation. Our guest and staff safety is paramount to us. The hotel reserves the right to modify the hotel hot tub usage policies and availability without notice. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
*Important Note:
The steam room will be closed for maintenance from November 1 to December 20, 2024

Vending Snack Machines
Feeling like a snack or a cool drink? Head on over to the Timber Building main entrance and on the right-hand side are the vending machines.
You can get change for the machines at the Front Desk. The machines take $1 and $2 coins.

There is no cash ATM on-site a the Mountaineer Lodge. However, you can walk across the street to the Petro Canada gas station and find one there.

Engine Block Plug-ins are available in the parking spots around the side of the Lobby Building. These spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Electric Car Charging: There is no electric car charging stations at the Mountaineer Lodge. There is one at the Lake Louise Ski Resort.

Weather
The weather in the Canadian Rockies will keep you on your toes! One minute its cool and cloudy and the next the clouds clear and it becomes warm and sunny. "Layering" your clothing is the best strategy for a great day in the mountains.

Security & Safety
Emergency
In an emergency, try to remain calm and dial 911.
If you see a fire, activate the nearest alarm by pulling on the alarm handle.
If you need medical help, dial 911
Fire
Please take the time upon your arrival to familiarize yourself with your room, your surroundings, and the location of fire extinguishers and fire alarms.
As well, please know where your nearest fire exit and stairwell are.
If you hear an alarm, take your room key card. Test the door for heat by touching the door before opening it If the hallway is safe, exit to the stairs. If you are unable to leave your room, turn off the air conditioner. Stuff the doors and cracks with wet cloths and/or towels. Please remove the drapes from the windows, phone the Front Desk 403.522.3844 to make them aware of your location.

Covid 19 Operations
The Mountaineer Lodge has established COVID-19 operating procedures, in accordance with the Province of Alberta regulations, to ensure the safety and health of our guests and staff.
Safety & Security
While in your room, we recommend that you double lock your doors by closing the door tightly and engaging the deadbolt or security lock.
Use the peephole to identify visitors. All hotel staff wear name badges and can be clearly read.
Protect your room key card at all times and return them to the Front Desk when you check out.
Safety deposit boxes are installed in the Timber Building guest rooms (#1-#48). Please ask at the Front Desk if you have valuables that you would like secured.

Get to Know Lake Louise
The Lake Louise area is divided into two mini-communities; the village and upper Lake Louise. The main community, referred to as the village, is directly off the Trans Canada Highway and is where the Mountaineer Lodge is located. The Village has a small shopping area, Samson Mall, which includes restaurants, equipment rental shop, information centre, grocery and liquor store, and gift boutiques.
The other area, known as upper Lake Louise, is where the famous lake is located, as well as the Chateau Lake Louise, and many trailheads for hiking, and horseback riding.
