Careers at Mountaineer Lodge
The Mountaineer Lodge in downtown Lake Louise is looking for great people to join our team.
Build a hospitality career in one of the most beautiful places to work in Canada. Mountaineer Lodge is an independent, family-run hotel in the village of Lake Louise, inside Banff National Park, and we're always looking for great people to join our team.
We're open year round, so whether you're after a winter ski season, a summer of lake days and hiking, or a longer-term hospitality career, there's a place for you here.
Life at Mountaineer Lodge
We're a family-owned, independent hotel, not a big chain, so you're never just a number here. Our team is small enough that you'll know everyone by name and get real support from your first shift.
Working here means living in Lake Louise, inside Banff National Park, with the lake, the trails, and the ski hill a few minutes from your door. Your commute might include an elk sighting. Your day off might include a hike to a turquoise lake.
Mountaineer Lodge is part of Vantage Hotels, alongside Best Western Plus Valemount, so there's room to grow your career across the mountain corridor if that's the path you want.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer staff housing?
Yes, subsidized housing is available for staff who need it, a short walk from the hotel. You'll sign a rental agreement, with rent and a damage deposit deducted from your paycheque.
What is staff accommodation actually like?
Think shared living more than apartment living. You'll have a shared or single bedroom, shared kitchen and common spaces, and roommates from all over the world. It's a fast way to make friends and build a mountain-town community.
Are there health benefits?
Yes. Once you've been with the team for six months, you're eligible for health and dental benefits.
Can I grow my career at Mountaineer Lodge?
We prefer to promote from within, based on performance, attendance, tenure, and skill. We also encourage cross-training, so if you're hired for one role and find you're drawn to another, we'll help you explore it.
Are there other perks for staff?
Team members get friends and family rates at Mountaineer Lodge and our sister properties, Mount Robson Inn in Jasper and Best Western Plus Valemount, BC.
Am I eligible to apply if I'm not a Canadian citizen?
You need to be legally eligible to work in Canada to be considered. This applies to every role and every candidate, no exceptions.
Do you have a preference for candidates who can commit long-term?
Yes. Preference is given to candidates who are able to stay longer. Training takes real time and investment, and we want to invest in people who plan to stick around for a season or more.
How do I get around Lake Louise without a car?
Lake Louise runs year round shuttle service to the ski resort, plus a shuttle to Banff for a small fee. From Banff, you can connect on to Calgary.
What's it like living in Lake Louise?
Small and quiet, with everything you actually need. Lake Louise is home to about 800 year-round residents, sits inside Banff National Park, and is a 40-minute drive from Banff and a 2-hour drive from Calgary. You'll find a grocery store, a few restaurants and cafes, and endless trails and lake views right outside your door.
Who owns Mountaineer Lodge?
We're a family-owned hotel and have been since 2012. The same family also owns Mount Robson Inn in Jasper and Best Western Plus Valemount, BC.
